Do I need a hub?

No. This globe connects straight to your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi on its own. Nothing else to buy, nothing to set up first. If you would rather run a hub for longer range and a stronger mesh, choose our ZigBee globe instead.

Which app does it use?

CozyLife, which is free on iOS and Android. Please note this is a different app to Tuya / Smart Life, so this globe sits separately from our Tuya devices rather than alongside them. Once you link CozyLife to Alexa or Google Home, voice control works exactly the same.

Which wattage should I choose?

15W suits a bedside or table lamp. 18W is a good all-rounder for a bedroom or study. 20W is the brightest and is best when the globe is the main light in a living room. All three are the same size and fitting.

Does it work with Alexa and Google Home?

Yes. Link CozyLife to Alexa or Google Home once in the app and you can control the globe by voice. It is not compatible with Apple HomeKit.

Can I use it with a wall dimmer?

No. Do not use this globe on a circuit with a physical wall dimmer — it dims from the app instead, and a wall dimmer can cause flicker or damage. Leave the switch on full and dim from your phone.

Do I need an electrician?

No. It screws into your existing E27 fitting exactly like an ordinary globe. Turn the power off at the switch first, as you would with any globe change.
