Do I need a hub?

The WiFi variant connects directly to your 2.4GHz network — no hub. The Zigbee variant needs a Zigbee hub for a faster, more reliable mesh.

Where should I mount it?

Choose ceiling or side (wall) mount to suit each room. It also reads ambient light, so you can trigger lights only when it's dark.
